Do you have a task you're putting off? A conversation you're avoiding? A problem you know you need to solve, but you really don't want to put the time in right now?
I call those rain clouds.
They follow us around, and lurk. They cast shadows over new days, productivity, peace, contentment and joy.
Most of the time, we create umbrellas to try and hide from the rain clouds. These can be weak excuses like "I don't feel like it", or genuine distractions such as finding other important work to busy ourselves with. Let's picture these umbrellas like those old cartoons when they get turned inside out and aren't doing a bit of good.
Here's the thing about rain clouds though, they eventually spring a leak, and the rain comes. And here we are, with out useless inside out umbrellas, drenched.
So what are you avoiding today that you've put up in a rain cloud? What do you need to face now so it doesn't turn into a downpour later?
Some easy steps for task management include:
Make a list
Prioritize your tasks
Set a date goal that is both attainable, but also soon enough that you don't lose momentum
Be intentional with the time you have to dedicate to your rain cloud
Remember that tomorrow you is worth the effort today
Good luck with those clouds, and as always I'm here to help.
